Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well being. These aspects are often influenced by the surroundings you live in. People depend on the environment for certain needs to sustain life. Factors like the air, water, food and your lifestyle can have a positive or negative effect on your health. These factors also decide the longevity of your life. Therefore, making it extremely important to take care of the environment and necessary measures to keep it clean from various pollutants. Having access to clean drinking water or hygienic surroundings can keep you and your loved ones away from dangerous diseases.

In the past few years, everyone heard about Delhi’s deteriorating air quality. This situation harmed the localities. The poor air quality had affected their quality of life and their health. People had to take various steps to keep themselves safe and in good health. Many Indian states and villages are exposed to polluted water, be it for drinking or taking a shower. The rivers and lakes being contaminated with garbage and raw sewage have affected the health of the people. Waterborne diseases like diarrhoea, cholera and typhoid were noticed to increase in these states and villages.

Situations like these lead to affecting the health of millions of people. Lack of sanitary measures and not taking responsibility for keeping the environment clean has and will continue to affect the health of people, including children and the elderly.

Likewise, living in a clean and hygienic surrounding can have a positive effect on your health. Since the environment we live in plays a vital role in shaping our health, we must take steps to make it a better place for everyone to live in. People will have to be more aware of the environment. People have to take measures towards restoring the environment for a better and sustainable future.
